Shells, Stones and Skins, 2025
My chosen art piece is “Shells, Stones, & Skins.”
I collected shells and stones from beaches and gardens because I like their shapes, patterns and textures. I decided to combine them to form an artwork.
These objects serve as timeless personal symbols of comfort and memory of time spent with my family. They also have a connection with nature which I love.
To make it more beautiful and interesting, I painted animal skin patterns onto some of them. I want to show the connection between life and the environment.
I hope that people will be reminded of how wonderful and important nature is when they see my work. I hope they will take better care of nature.
When I made this artwork, I felt a sense of achievement and happiness. It gives me less distress when facing difficulties
This artwork means a lot to me because it was exhibited in Singapore and Japan and I received a merit award. I am glad it reached a wider audience.
