About Syncing Space

Syncing Space is an accessible online space for art making, curating and collaboration.
Syncing Space brings international artists together for a professional residency to:
- take time to try things out in an online studio, sharing their thinking, experimenting and making new work.
- take part in leadership and coaching workshops individually and with others to share and develop ideas and confidence to do new things.
- share work at the end of the residency in a final online exhibition
- learn and lead on things together
What is Sync?
Sync Leadership is a disabled-led project that inspires disabled creatives to be their best selves through a blend of coaching practice and leadership thinking.
We run intensive programmes face to face and online across the world with D/deaf, disabled and neurodivergent arts leaders.
What is coaching?
Coaching is the art of open questioning, it’s not therapy. It is a solution focused way of realising your potential
What is leadership?
Leadership is about behaviours and how you make impact in the world building on your natural, skills, talents and ways of being in the world.
Sync knows that disabled artists can change society through making art, whatever form it takes!
Syncing Space is a new Sync Leadership project developed by Sync co-founder Sarah Pickthall.
Syncing Space is an online residency platform for disabled artists to explore, make, create, curate and showcase
(i)their art alongside others
(ii) their arts leadership
Joining a Syncing Space residency is a chance to collaborate internationally. Residency artists will
a. take time to try things out in you online studio, sharing your thinking, experimenting and making new work
b .take part in leadership and coaching workshops individually and with others to share and develop your ideas and confidence to do new things
c. share work at the end of the residency in a final online exhibition – this could be an art work, a think piece, a film, or workshop that you might lead or an artist talk you might give to inspire others
