This is a drawing I made using blue carbon paper. It is a blue drawing on a white piece of paper. It is a drawing of me wearing my mermaid costume at the swimming pool.

'My Costume'

This is a drawing of me wearing my mermaid costume. I drew is with pencil, sharpie pen, felt tips, pencil crayons and metallic pens. I am dressed as a mermaid at a swimming pool. There main colours in this work are greys, blues, greens. There is also brown and yellow for my hair and the sunshine, which is in the left corner of the work.

This is my work. It is about my memories and my life with my boyfriend Thomas. The work shows 9 boxes with different memories in them. They are all memories of times we have spent together. Each box has a drawing of me and Thomas in different places and times. There are lots of colours in each box. Lots of pinks and browns and golds/yellows. There is some writing and dates next to each drawing, that says things that are important to me about the memories.

This work is called: ‘My Family Life’

This work is about a friendship life.

It’s about me (of course) and my boyfriend Thomas.

It is a big piece of work and it took me a long time to make.

My favourite square in the work is of the love heart at the bottom of the work, in the middle. It is Thomas surprising me, going on a date to Bar Italia at the Lowry Centre in Manchester.

It’s a work about my memories.

I used felt tip pens on foam board to make it.

This work was chosen to be in this year’s Manchester Open 2026 exhibition at HOME, Manchester.
