WIP Mandala Art

Working on my Mandala Art

I’m working hard to finish up my big Mandala Art piece for our upcoming exhibition in April. My sister Armani is worried about the time and deadline but I’m taking my time making sure I get to paint what I want for all my artworks. She keeps asking to check on my painting but I don’t allow her to see it, because that is my artists’ process. I will show her when I am ready. I like to paint in my room surrounded by all my paint and tools and my canvases.

My very first butterfly painting

Colorful butterfly with geometric patterns on its wings against a gold and silver background. Artist's signature dated 2017 at the bottom right.

This is my first ever butterfly painting which was exhibited in the first exhibition I had with my friends in 2017. The exhibition was called WE and Izzati which led to the creation of our art collective WE&I Art.

My metaphor is a butterfly

I see myself as a butterfly, colorful and transformative!

I like to draw butterflies too. This photo is of me drawing a butterfly on to a community art mural in an event.

The other mandala – work in progress

Izaati's arm dips into a palette of paints behind which we see a mandala with some paint applied to it..

I love painting on the floor and as my fingers move , So does my toes …. thats how i am connected …and expressing my art .

The other mandala

The Other Mandala WIP – i am working on 3 pieces of Art , this is the smaller one on canvas while the one on top is the One on ceramic …. I will try to upload the video of Its progress ..

Shopping for art supplies

On Monday 24th February 2025, I went shopping for art supplies with my sister Armani and mom Zuraini.

There were so many things to choose from but I knew exactly what I wanted. Here is a photo of me choosing some boxes to paint on while holding 2 big canvases in front of a full basket of art supplies.

Visiting Ur-Mu in Kuala Lumpur

A picture of Izzati visiting the Urban museum sitting on a seat, wearing green trousers a pink top and green waistcoat on a chair with a large painting exhibited behind her.

On Saturday 15th February 2025, I went to visit a gallery in Kuala Lumpur called Ur-Mu with my sister Armani and mom Zuraini.

Ur-Mu (Urban Museum) is one of the venues that we might host the exhibition for Sync Shorts in April.

There were a lot of people there as it was the launch day of Mr. Jailani Abu Hassan’s exhibition. He is a well-known visual artist in Malaysia and I had the opportunity to showcase my artworks together with him before in another event. I was happy to meet him again and enjoyed looking at his artworks.

This is a photo of me in Ur-Mu gallery, sitting on a bench amongst the guests who are exploring the exhibition. I am wearing bright green patterned pants, striped red long sleeve under an olive colored vest with lilac sandals and a black beanie under mt pink headphones. I received many compliments on my outfit today, which I picked myself!
