My name is Emily Honderich and I’m a multi- disciplinary artist living in Toronto.
My interests includes digital art, painting, drawing and textiles and I work in acrylic, oils, watercolour, charcoal, embroidery and weaving.
I gained a BFA in Integrated Media from OCAD university and over the past 5 years focused on abstract paintings and iPad illustrations. I’ve also worked as a graphic designer for the Shoe project.
I want to use this opportunity for me to grow and learn as an artist and explore my artistic practice. To me, leadership means growth, motivation, strength, working together towards goals, influence and environment. I am eager to explore the opportunities available to me as a leader with a neurodivergent perspective.
This residency feels like the right moment for me as an artist. I would greatly appreciate the opportunity to be mentored and to explore working on larger canvases. Additionally, I am also keen to have the chance to collaborate with other artists with challenges, and develop my voice in a community that celebrates difference.
